Social Media - a small insight

People often ask what to talk about when tackling social media outlets such as Facebook & Twitter, they find that the one thing they want to scream out, is "buy from us!", but really the hard sell approach is the last thing you should be doing. Now every platform has a different approach to socialising so naturally your approach will change from one to another, but your subject matter overal, l should really be about establishing yourself as an expert in your field.

The tone of your voice that you use, will also be of importance, are you factual, humourous, light hearted or passionate?
This would have to fit with your brand so you will have to decide.

Now start to become an expert in your field by talking about the issues that your area of work covers, by highlighting what others are doing (yes even if its great), by showing people how to do things (notice what i'm doing here) or by discussing contentious points within your business area. Now dont be giving away your trade secrets, but chances are that your business doesn't rely on a secret that no one knows, So giving away information on how to do things, however small only re-enforces you as an expert and that expertise will attract prospects who will one day pay for more.
